Who am I, you ask? What makes me so special, you say? Well, I don't consider myself special, but I will tell you that I'm not one of the gazillion guitar players of the world. Nope, I'm just one of a couple thousand piano dudes. And I guess that does make me a little special?
As a middle aged guy I guess you can say I accomplished some pretty cool musical things at this point of my life. My first band Mr. Greengenes was a huge cover band on the east coast of the United States. We became the official rock band of the Philadelphia Eagles. We played for millions up people up and down the east coast and set attendance records. We opened up for acts like G-love, Marcy Playground, Jeffery Gaines, Veruca Salt, Better Than Ezra, and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones. I got to play some pretty neat venues all around the USA too.
As a songwriter, I took 1st place in the John Lennon Songwriting contest in the early 2000s. I had a song in the top 10 of the USA Songwriting Contest after that. I put out a few CDs. I studied songwriting with Rob Hyman... you know, the guy from "The Hooters" who wrote 'Time after Time' for Cindy Lauper? I worked with producer David Ivory(The Roots, Erica Badu, Patti LaBelle) a few times. Most recently, I started doing keyboard and drum sample work for Obie O'Brien(Bon Jovi) for some of his new artists(Cole Redding, Hannah Jae, Phoenix Jakob). That's still ongoing and pretty cool, right? In Dec of 2016 I was lucky enough to work on music for Bon Jovi's "Camden" documentary. Oh yeah, and somewhere in the midst of all that I managed to get my Masters degree in teaching.
For now though... I'm just doing my thing as a keyboard player, songwriter, producer/engineer, music teacher, "SURVIVOR wannabe", husband, and dad in and around the Philadelphia, PA area. Find me... Let's have a drink, and toast... to life and all the great things it brings.
